Space NK, a prestigious beauty retailer, has been a staple on high streets across the UK and Ireland for 32 years. With 76 stores (and growing!), they are renowned for offering a curated selection of high-end beauty products. As the retail landscape evolves, Space NK recognized the need to enhance their in-store experience through digital innovation. To this end, they embarked on a digital transformation journey, starting with their flagship store in Covent Garden. Pixite was chosen as their partner for this ambitious project.

Objectives

• Enhance Customer Experience: Integrate digital displays to create a more engaging and dynamic shopping environment.
• Modernise Storefronts: Update the aesthetic appeal of store windows with cutting-edge digital installations.
• Standardise Innovation: Implement digital transformation across a significant portion of their stores.

Challenges

• Non-Standard Sizes: All display installations were to be fitted into store windows of varying dimensions, requiring bespoke solutions.
• Consistency Across Locations: Ensuring a uniform digital experience across multiple stores while adapting to each store’s unique layout.
• Tight Timelines: Completing the installations in a timely manner to minimise disruption to store operations.

Solution

The digital transformation began with Space NK’s newly renovated Covent Garden store. This flagship location served as the pilot for the project. Pixite worked closely with the Space NK team to design and install digital displays tailored to the store’s specifications, with install taking place mere weeks from the first point of contact.

Following the success at Covent Garden, Pixite expanded the rollout to the first third of Space NK’s estate. This phase included:

• Site Assessments: Detailed evaluations of each store to determine the best digital display solutions.
• Custom Fabrication: Creating displays that matched the non-standard window sizes across various locations.
• Installation and Support: Efficient installation processes with ongoing support to ensure all displays operated flawlessly.

Implementation
