beautiful colourful lighting brighting the concert stage

The UK is entering the summer festival season, and this year is set to be a bumper one after three years of cancellations or scaled back affairs due to the pandemic. With festival organisers pulling out all the stops to create bigger and more diverse events than ever before, it’s a highly competitive field.

Digital display screens are now a key tool to help with a successful event. Long gone are the days when punters had to queue for hours at the front of the stage to ensure a good view of the acts, for example.

It’s now standard practice to have at least one or two large screens to display the performers, so that everyone can see what’s going on no matter where in the crowd they are standing. It is also useful if the view is obstructed in places by flags, banners, pillars, or just tall people in hats.

This leads to a better quality of experience for the audience, and helps to bring energy and excitement to the event. When everyone is fully able to immerse themselves in the music and see their favourite artists perform up close, it all contributes to a great atmosphere that musicians love, and it will see the crowds returning next year.

Digital signage has many other uses at a festival. It can display essential information such as where to find medical points, toilets, and refreshments. It can also be used as part of the general wayfinding system, and to inform festival goers which acts are playing, and where and when.

Last but not least, screens can be used at festivals for advertising purposes and to livestream news or relevant social media feeds.
